This site has four main purposes.
- To serve as a demonstration of how a Wikidot wiki can be used to create a Council wiki, intranet or extranet or a community based website.
- To be a place where Bundaberg Regional Council residents can visit to share information about the region and to find out information about the region's Council operated parks, public buildings and infrastructure.
- A place for Bundaberg Regional Council to share information with other Councils.
- To promote the open sharing of knowledge both between Councils, and between Councils and their residents in the spirit of the Queensland Right to Information Act 2009 and with a view to making the entire Australian Local Government community more interconnected, well informed, and efficient.
Pages thought to be primarily of interest to residents appear under the "Bundypedia" banner and pages thought to be primarily of interest to other Councils & Government Agencies appear under the "BRC Extranet" banner. All of the information in both parts of the site can be viewed by anyone, but some links in the Extranet Section will be to intranet pages which are not publicly viewable.
All residents of BRC are welcome to join the site and to add any content they think might be of interest to other residents.
